A tribute to Mako Iwamatsu of ‘Avatar: the Last Airbender’

The voice behind our favorite character Uncle Iroh of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ was of the talented voice player Mako Iwamatsu. He left all his fans with tearful eyes on july21, 2006. He was diseased with esophageal cancer. He was extremely dedicated artist. One day before his death he completed the recording of his voice for the character, Master Splinter in TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) directed by Kevin Munroe. I am a damn fan of this Academy Award-nominated Japanese-American actor and pay tribute to his exceptional vocal proficiency. He was such a friendly person that many of his colleagues used to call him ‘Mako’, skipping his surname.

His earlier life is quite interesting as he never thought of coming into this profession and joined military in 1950s. He realized his theatrical abilities during his military services. After leaving military he started his training at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. He married to actress Shizuko Hoshi. He had two daughters; both of them are actresses.

He gave his voice for 1st and 2nd season of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and was not available anymore. His place was taken by Greg Baldwin for 3rd season. Mako’s theater career started in 1959 movie ‘Never So Few’. In 1965 he formed the East west Players theater company with six artists. It is one of the earliest Asian American theater organizations. It provided a venue for Asian American actors and nurtured many playwrights. He remained artistic director of the company until 1989. He appeared on many TV shows like McHale’s Nvy, M*A*S*H, The Incredible Hulk, F Troop, and Rise: Blood Hunter.

So if you are also interested to pay tribute to Mako then must watch ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ online. Otherwise just download ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and watch it anytime. After downloading, you can also share the video with your friends…

Avatar-The Last Airbender: A Convincing Superhero

We have seen Superman, Batman etc but most of these superheroes possessed out of the world super powers. To associate with them in realistic sense really seemed difficult. But when it came to Avatar-The Last Airbender, it really stole our hearts. It had powers that were derived from the basic elements like Air, Water, Fire, Aether and Earth itself. This was the reason the audiences had a strong connection with characterization of Avatar. Avatar was our own super hero in real sense.

The show was such a hit among young audiences that they wanted to learn the arts of attack and defense possessed by Avatar. I can’t figure out many children who want to fly like Superman or become a human spider to jump from one building to another. Possessing such exaggerated super human powers seems totally unrealistic. But with appearance of Avatar on the horizon the world of possibilities expanded.

More realistic a cartoon character is more is its appeal among the audiences. Also its acceptance among people belonging to different age groups increases. As this animated series ended with a befitting finale, the fans of this television show must have felt satisfied as it has become a trend nowadays to end promising shows abruptly.

“Avatar-The Last Airbender” has had it all what could be expected from a successful show. This show can boast right from video games based upon it to posters, stuff toys. What more can we ask from a television show? Avatar is modern day unisex Barbie doll for growing up kids. To catch up with your favorite animated character, you can download Avatar- The Last Airbender episodes from this website.

A Sneak Into The Avatar Movie…..!!!

Hey all you Avatar- The Last Airbender fans out there. I was surfing the net sometime back and I just came across an interview of M. Night Shyamalan, the ace director who is going to turn our favorite carton series into a movie. In the interview he was talking about the upcoming movie. So I decided to share the information with you all as I am sure that you are also as excited about the movie as I am.

As I have told you before the movie will be an all out action thriller with real people playing the parts of our favorite characters. Well, another thing that the director has confirmed is that the movie will display a whole lot of computer graphics. He further added that the entire team was working hard to make the movie look real while at the same time not disturbing the element of fantasy involved in the story. The director also confirmed that currently they were in the process of building the sets for the movie.

He also revealed why he wanted to make the series into a movie. According to him he loved the characters as well as the story of the series as it had all the inherent elements of everyday life of a common man. So now we know that we have a great director who shares our feelings about the series.

When the series went off air in July 2008 after being on television for three years, I felt really heartbroken. But now that the series is being turned into a movie and that too with real characters, I am really thrilled. Although we all have to wait a little too long for the movie but we can always keep up to date with the latest developments through this website and in the meanwhile also download and watch any and all episodes of the series.

Dev Patel on ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

Well, no introduction is required for Dev Patel, the 18 year old British actor. He’s the lad who proved how to be a millionaire overnight in the recent hit. The Oscar sensation ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, which won 8 Oscar Awards, was Dev Patel’s first break and it did so well. His outstanding performance on movie has opened new doors of career and he has started getting new projects everyday.

What caught my attention, and what would do the same with you, is the news that Dev Patel has joined the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Joining him are actor Jackson Rathbone, ‘Twilight’ fame; and newcomers Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, and Jessica Jade Andres etc. Movie is a live action film by M. Night Shyamalan and is based on our very favorite animation series ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender. Movie will be produced by Paramount Pictures.

The role which came to Dev’s part was first meant for Hollywood heartthrob Jesse McCartney. Jesse’s busy schedules made him to get his name out of the list and ultimately, Dev Patel was the next choice for role. Dev would be portraying Zuko, a member of the Fire Nation. It’s being said that he will join the cast for a boot camp before the shooting begins. Shyamalan, about Dev’s entry into the star-cast list, said “Patel was “already one of the guys I was interested in. Then I saw ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ and the kid just grew in my eyes”.

As per the latest news, it’s sure that production of the movie would begin in Mid-March and movie is likely to hit theatres on July 2, 2010. Initially, movie was entitled ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ but due to some controversies, the name has been changed to ‘The Last Airbender.

Though it was very depressing to see Avatar: The Last Airbender’ getting off the air after 3 seasons only, but at-least now we have something to wait for… it’d be awesome to see the animation hit converting into live action..

Let’s catch up with the Avatar, movie news

I know the sad part is that the series has been cancelled but the good news is that soon we will get to see a new Avatar movie. And now when that is the latest thing about this animation series, so let me upgrade you with what the movie will be about and what the directors of the movie are up to.

Almost all of us are aware of the fact that M. Night Shyamalan, has decided to make a live action movie on the hit animation series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. But most of us do not know that the director of the film has invited loads of trouble by casting white actors as the main characters in his big-screen take of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Wondering what the problem with that is, the problem is that the series features a decidedly Asian world with predominantly Asian characters, including Aang, the title character, the Chosen One who must unite four warring worlds; Sokka, Aang’s friend; and Katara, Sokka’s sister. Some of the vivid fans of the series have taken this quite literary and are calling Shyamalan, the writer, director and producer of the movie, a racist. For the movie, Shyamalan has decided to cast Noah Ringer, a karate champion from Texas, as Aang, Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone as Sokka and Nicola Peltz of Deck the Halls as Katara. Fans are actually quite disturbed by this change of cast in the movie. And they feel that this is like a slap in the face of those who are loyal to the show.

Mostly fans are upset by this casting of the movie and are writing in complaints. People have taken this issue far more seriously and gone to the extent of calling it ‘Orientalism’. I personally feel that this kind of thing could really affect the collection of the movie, once the movie is released. Do you think this kind of negative publicity and making the fans unhappy with the cast of the new movie will affect the collection of the movie? Share your thoughts with us by leaving comments.

Avatar is coming again with movie

Here is some amazing news for the guys who are upset over the end of Avatar series. Don’t worry here are the chances of it’s come back. But there are two shocks for you along with this good news. So let me give you the first shock that the movie is coming in 2010 so you have to have patience. Now is the turn of second but pleasant shock that the movie will be non-animated. It will be a full fledge live-action movie with the same characters, so get ready to watch the real Appa flying in the air.

Hey don’t get upset about the long wait. This site is the solution. You can download any of the seasons from the animated series. As the movie will hit your screen in 2010 so till then enjoy the original one from here. Don’t worry it won’t take long. Just click on the show name in blog roll and then click on the episode name you want to watch and you will get it. It will take just a few minutes and without any interference. Isn’t it great?

At least I do enjoy the episodes of Avatar. You know which season I liked the most? It’s the first season. in fact I like many episodes from all the seasons but the first season was most happening. You know I read on buddytv that this show broke all the previous records of animes with 19 million viewers. Actually the story plot is really different and it was obvious for it to win so many hearts.

In the first season I liked the way of introduction of Aang a lot. After that, the third episode fascinated me the most as he did naughty deeds and unknowingly used his destructive powers to burst off the fire nation trap and the villagers who were thinking him as an innocent kid, shown him the way to leave the village. But eventually he saves the same village from fire nation army attack.
I am very excited about the real life movie based on the animation series and you know M. Night Syamalan, the creator of The Sixth Sense is gonna direct it, so definitely it is worth.
