The animated series is also known as Avatar- The Legend of Aang and aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon television network. The story plot is designed upon the Asian- influenced world of Martial arts. Aang is the lead character of the show, whose job is to create a peaceful world and save the world from war with the Fire Nation. The animated characters are shown with the distinct powers of controlling elements like water, air, fire and earth. All the heroes and villains of the series are capable of manipulating any of these elements to fight against their enemies.
The main character Aang is able to manipulate air and learns the other skills of waterbending and earth bending from his friends. Although it is shown that he has crossed seven chakras and is an Avatar now and he is a spirit of a planet in human form. He appears as a 12 year old kid but actually he is 112 years old, as he had unknowingly locked himself into an air bubble which later on turns into an ice berg. Katara and Sokka rescue him after 112 years and join him in his quest against imperialistic Fire Nation. Zuko, Iroh and Azula are the villaneous characters from Fire nation who want to kill the Avatar. Aang owns airbending skills, Katara is water bender and Zuko, Iroh and Azula are fire benders. One more character Toph is introduced as earth bender, she is blind and is teacher cum friend of Aang.
